 RAISA Research and Advocacy Work 


RAISA team members are the strong Rohingya community leaders who participated in several key advocacy events both inside Myanmar, Bangladesh and regional and international levels. 

RAISA founder, Dr Tin Mar Oo, participated as a panelist for several key events on refugee issues, Regional ASEAN meeting, ICJ gender report presentation meetings and academic forums in Asia and United States. 

RAISA research team also implemented research on human rights violations in Myanmar and Bangladesh and media monitoring on mis-information during the conflict in Rakhine state. They produced the ground breaking research, "Voices amid Strife: Rohingya perception on Arakan Army, War in Rakhine and Justice in Myanmar" with the support of Canadian government fund, K4DM.  RAISA founder's autoethnographic essay was published by Independent Journal of Burma Studies.  Networking and Building Solidarity Among Minorities  RAISA has implemented more than 20 networking meetings between Rohingya youths from Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and India to share the ground situation of Rohingya in Southeast Asia and to increase awareness over the conflict related situation in Myanmar Rakhine state.  Our community partners share their work and ongoing human rights violation in Myanmar and Bangladesh. RAISA Minority Workshops

  In 2024, RAISA team implemented minority workshops in collaboration with Minority Affair Institute (MAI).  RAISA partners organizations such as Thet Youth Development Organization, Minority Education and Democracy Organization, Akha Ethnic Union, Spring Revolution Interfaith Network, Arakan Gender and Development Society and other Rohingya civil society organizations joined these workshops and shared their insights in the training. Workshops focused on minority rights, social cohesion and transitional justice. The Minority Affair Institute director facilitated discussion on minority rights and RAISA trainer facilitated social cohesion and opportunity for building social cohesion during the transition period. The Asia Justice and Rights organization team facilitated tran sitional justice concepts and principles for one day.
