Networking and Building Solidarity Among Minorities
RAISA has implemented more than 20 networking meetings between Rohingya youths from Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and India to share the ground situation of Rohingya in Southeast Asia and to increase awareness over the conflict related situation in Myanmar Rakhine state.
Our community partners share their work and ongoing human rights violation in Myanmar and Bangladesh. Through these community meetings, Rohingya youths were able to learn Myanmar political landscape and forms network to share opportunities for youths education. Our bi-weekly meetings are a great source of information which prevent mis-information among Rohingya and help us to understand the Rohingya perceptives on the governments, emerging political power and policies on Rohingya.
RAISA also engage with ethnic minority organizations from Rakhine state such as Thet Youth Association, Rakhine Women Peace Builder Network, Mayyu Youth Development Organizations and organization from other part of Myanmar such as Akha Federal Union, Spring Revolution Force and Democracy of Ethnic Minority Organization, to build social cohesion and solidarity between Rohingya and other ethnic minorities. Rohingya youths were able to share their lived experience inside Rakhine state and Bangladesh camps with other ethnic youths.
